Happy October!

I love October! Vampires, witches, scarecrows, pumpkins, cookies.

Um, yeah. Cookies. I mean, you eat Christmas cookies, don't you? Why not, then, autumn cookies?

Today I'll be making one of our favorites, molasses cookies. And I'm sharing the recipe with you!
Enjoy!

Molasses Cookies

3/4 cup softened butter
1 cup sugar
1 egg
1/4 cup molasses
2 cups flour
2 teaspoons baking soda
1/2 teaspoon salt
1 teaspoon ground cinnamon
1/2 teaspoon ground cloves
1/2 teaspoon ground ginger
1/2 cup additional sugar

Combine butter, 1 cup sugar and egg until smooth. Add molasses. Combine flour, baking soda, salt, cinnamon, cloves and ginger in separate bowl, then add to molasses mixture.

Cover. Chill dough for 1 hour.

Preheat oven to 375 degrees. Roll dough into walnut sized balls, and roll in additonal sugar. Place cookies 2 inches apart onto ungreased baking sheets.

Bake 10 minutes in the preheated oven, until tops are cracked.
